Each basic step is taught with music, which conditions the dancers to feel the rhythm from the very beginning.

Each lesson progresses from simple movements, to those of increased difficulty and speed.

Each song is taught by one phrase or verse at a time. The first time through, the music and dance is slowed down for learning. Then the second time through will be the performance speed.

"Mirror-image" is used. The instructor has designed the movements in reverse allowing the dancer to follow each lesson in a mirror-like fashion.
