The Makapu`u Sand Band’s second album -- available here on CD -- again emphasized the group’s Hawaiian roots. They gave us crisp arrangements on acoustic guitar, slack key and string bass with strong vocals & Hawaiian lyrics, just as on their first album. They were unique and groundbreaking in the late 1970’s. Their vocals display a true expression of love and joy for their musical roots and Hawaiian heritage. Iaukea Bright and Albert Ka`ai wrote five new songs expressly for WINDS OF WAIMANALO -- a lost treasure, newly found!
