Album Notes

HO`OLUANA is particularly significant -- it was the final release by the group which had been known for over a decade as The Makaha Sons of Ni`hau.

Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo`ole launched his solo career after this album, and the remaining trio -- Moon Kauakahi, John Koko, and Jerome Koko -- renamed their group The Makaha Sons.
