Considered one of the most influential vocalists of Hawaiian music in the 20th Century, Alfred Apaka’s classic hit, BROADWAY WEARS A LEI is now available on compact disc. Known as "The Golden Voice of Hawai`i", Alfred Apaka performed with such greats as Bob Hope who took him to Hollywood for appearances in his national TV show. That exposure made Alfred Apaka a destination for visitors from around the World. The Hilton Hawaiian Village has erected a statue on it's Waikiki property to honor his memory and his music.. A charismatic performer, Apaka charmed visitors and locals alike during his short career. From the 1950's through the 1960's, Apaka made the Waikiki entertainment scene come to life. His stature has assumed legendary dimensions.
