In 1975, educator Noelani Kanoho Mahoe decided to hold auditions at Blanche Pope Elementary School in Waimanalo (O`ahu) for a planned Christmas album. Approximately 240 area youngsters tried out...and went on to make numerous public appearances, in addition to making this recording.
All of this was quite an accomplishment for these residents of the very rural Hawaiian Homesteads area.. What a delight to have this recording now available on CD!
