Album Notes

This chant album was created in tribute to the Hawaiian hula tradition, and dedicated to King David Kalakaua. The chants were composed expressly for King Kalakaua's Birthday Jubilee and originally performed on Nov. 16, 1886.

The extensive liner notes include all lyrics and translations.
