In the 1980s they rose to prominence and popularity after winning a talent contest in Kona on the island of Hawai`i. Discovered by veteran record producer Bill Murata, their harmonies and distinctive style earned them a place in Hawaii's heart.

In five years they recorded five albums, two of them winning prestigious Na Hoku Hanohano Awards for excellence. The family has continued to perform, record, and travel abroad -- keeping their music alive.

But these five Pumehana records have been unavailable...until now. And hearing them again and again on this anthology CD, recalls how good the Lim Family is.
