Album Notes
Originally released in 1969, this is the album credited with starting the Hawaiian Renaissance of the 1970s -- a cultural re-awakening driven by island music innovators such as Gabby Pahinui and the Sons of Hawai`i.
The Sunday Manoa didn't intend to start a music revolution -- but when the group released this recording in 1969, they did. In a decade where rock and roll consumed Hawaii's radio stations and nightclub scene, GUAVA JAM breathed new life into Hawaiian music.
