Album Notes
Recorded to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the founding of the Royal Hawaiian Band, this recording will take you to a lazy Sunday afternoon in Kapi`olani Park, a lush 200-acre site in Waikiki set aside by King Kalakaua in 1877 for the enjoyment of Honolulu residents and visitors, and named for his queen.
These concerts in the park attract music lovers from around the world and are a tradition established more than a century ago by King Kalakaua himself. This album was recorded live at the park's Bandstand -- listen for the birds!
