The four talented musicians on this CD -- Gary Haleamau, Nolan Ha`o Robert Keli`iho`omalu, Jr., and Elmer "Sonny" Lim -- have been playing Hawaiian slack key guitar from when they were barely taller than the guitar they held. All were born and raised on the big island of Hawai`i. They learned the old way...from family members, in a true folk tradition. Some of the songs are ones that have been passed on to them in this manner. Others are more contemporary interpretations.
