The picture on this cover is a gag...but the term "singing cab driver" is not.

Myrtle K. Hilo was a full-time independent cab driver in Honolulu, and began singing professionally at the age of 14. After having recorded many "singles", this 1967 recording was her first full album -- filled with the songs heard often at informal parties at someone's home, rather than at the swank Waikiki clubs.
