From kinetic to meditative, Makana weaves a symphonic experience, extracting proportions of sound commonly equated with full orchestration; only here he utilizes no overdubs -- nothing but one guitar on each track. The roots are Hawaiian slack key; the branches suggest hues of bluegrass, classical, blues, raga and flamenco.
