Album Notes

A gift of song is one of the most precious ways to bestow love and honor on someone. While the melody breathes life into a song, the words capture its enduring thoughts. Many of the songs in this collection were written for Leilani as gifts from dear friends and the extended `ohana of her Halau Hula `O Leilani.

Leilani Rivera Bond, born and raised on the island of Kaua`i, is the kumu hula of Halau `O Leilani, in addition to being a musician and recording artist. She is the daughter of one of Kaua`i's "Living Treasures", Larry Rivera. Surrounded by music, Leilani developed a deep love and interest in traditional Hawaiian music and hula. She currently performs at the Grand Hyatt in Po`ipu, and at the Coconut Plantation Marketplace in Wailua.
