Kupaoa -- to be a strong, lingering fragrance.

Kalikolihau "Lihau" Hannahs and Kellen Paik are Kupaoa -- Hawaii's newest and likely only true male/female musical duet. Paik plays guitar and Hannahs handles the stand-up bass...an instrument she only recently picked up.

PILI O KE AO -- the beginning of a new day.

Of the 14 songs featured on this, their debut CD, seven are compositions by either or both Hannahs and Paik, two are by Puakea Nogelmeier, and the rest -- including three hapa-haole songs -- are by others.

Kupaoa's fresh sound in a traditional style is best described by the chorus of the final track of the CD, which says, "you say it best when you say nothing at all."
