With the release of E O MAI, Keali`i Reichel tackles the issues of Hawaiian sovereignty and the AIDS crisis. At the 1998 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, it won the Haku Mele Award for Puakea Nogelmeier's composition "Nematoda". The album's romantic title track remains an all-time favorite.
