2-disc anthology release from the multi-talented Keali`i Reichel is ground-breaking -- it features one disc of
`oli (chant) and one disc of mele (music) from his prior award-winning CDs.
The contents of this double-CD release could be described as a collection of Keali`i Reichel's favorite songs and chants, with the emphasis on the Hawaiian language and poetry.
All words and translations are included, as well as a preface by Puakea Nogelmeier on the techniques of haku mele (Hawaiian song composition) -- which will give the listener an appreciation for the nuances and kaona that are easily missed.
Seven of the mele were written or co-written by Puakea Nogelmeier; twelve were written or co-written by Keali`i Reichel.
