KULIAIKANU`U (Strive for the Highest) -- that tells it all. Although the title song was composed by Kahauanu Lake for his mother, it could be a description of the Kahauanu Lake Trio.
This 1978 recording, made during the trio's tenure at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, was to be the last of six made, beginning in 1964. Kahauanu Lake Trio albums have become standards for hula dancers and lovers of Hawaiian music everywhere.
