Israel Kamakawiwo`ole watched the television broadcast from his hospital bed as IN DIS LIFE won 5 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards in 1997. He never sounded better than his vocal and `ukulele work on this CD -- his last studio recording.
This was the last of his releases which Israel got to oversee, before his untimely passing June 26, 1997.
