Debut release from the "new" Hapa...accomplished guitarists, singers and songwriters Nathan Aweau and Barry Flanagan.

This recording is first and foremost a Hawaiian CD -- featuring three new original Hawaiian language songs. Hapa also fuses Hawaiian music with the influences of other Polynesian cultures. Along with Hawaiian ballads, uptempo songs, Hawaiian chant (by Charles Ka`upu), you'll hear selections in Tahitian and Tokelau. Hapa goes further, acknowledging the influence of modern culture on Polynesia by blending jazz, blues and even slam poetry influences into their Hawaiian-based music.
