The stringed instrument invention was Hawaii's gift to the world, but only Hawaiian players possess the homegrown emotional feeling heard in their unique style. This is where it all started.

Follow the transformation of Hawaiian steel guitar over four decades, the 1920’S through the 1950’s...from early acoustic sound, to the electrically amplified sound more familiar to today's audiences.

All performances feature exceptional Hawaiian steel guitarists performing in a manner representative of their era.
